Trethevy Quoit, autumn
Trethevy Quoit, autumn
Trethevy Quoit is an impressive Neolithic burial chamber on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, which stands 2.7m high. This piece of contemporary woven textile art is created from original drawings made in situ. The background textures are inspired by the granite stones and translated with coloured threads to give the feel of a blustery autumn day in this original tapestry.
It is hand-woven on a digital jacquard loom in a variety of carefully chosen yarns; linen, silk, rayon and cotton.
This picture is easy to hang – a metal rod can be fed through a tube in the top of the piece and this can be supported on two wall tacks. (Please note rod and tacks not included).
The artwork measures approximately 62cm wide by 54cm long.
