This is one in the collection of five handwoven tapestry pieces. Each is a study of colour and weave pattern structures. They are all framed in matt black behind art glass and each measures 11” (28cm) square. The artworks explore the process of showing multiple strands of colourful yarns on the front of the cloth or hiding them in the middle or on the back of the surface. The warp threads are lifted or lowered to manipulate the placement of the individual weft threads. The mixed fibres in this piece include post-industrial waste yarns in cotton, silk and rayon floss.
