These handwoven tapestry studies are an exploration of colour and weave pattern structure. Framed in matt black behind art glass, each measures 11” (28cm) square. The artwork considers the process of showing the colourful yarns on the front of the cloth or hiding them in the middle or the back. Warp threads are lifted or lowered to manipulate the placement of the individual threads. Here the mixed fibres include post-industrial waste yarns in cotton, silk and rayon floss.
