This handwoven artwork is framed in matt black behind art glass and measures 11” (28cm) square. This is one in a series of five handmade tapestry pieces. The collection is a study of colour and weave pattern structures. This artwork considers the process of showing the colourful yarns on the front or hiding them in the middle or back of the cloth. The warp threads are lifted or lowered to manipulate the placement of the individual weft threads. Mixed fibres in this piece include post-industrial waste yarns in cotton, silk and rayon floss.
