Mysterious creature of the deep, up to 13m long, living at depths ranging from 300 to 1000m. This striking image of the squid was recreated from footage captured from a submarine deep in the Pacific Ocean. With thanks to Dr Kubodera of the National Museum of Nature and Science of Japan for his kind permission to draw from his photographs. The design process started as usual from original drawings and mark-making.

This bold image, which measures approximately 70cm wide by 104cm long is hand-woven in a mixture of cotton, silk, lurex and rayon floss threads.

The artwork hangs by way of a solid rod through a purpose made tube at the top of the piece. This rod can be supported simply on two wall tacks or suspended with wire. (Please note fixings are not supplied but we are happy to help with suggestions for hanging).
